Introduction to nursing as a profession. Focuses on Bio-Psycho-Social needs common to all human beings: health promotion, maintenance and restoration. Fundamental nursing skills required to deliver safe and therapeutic nursing care are taught in supervised laboratory and clinical settings. Emphasis is placed on principles of biological and social sciences applicable to nursing care, the nursing process, and the needs of the aged.
