This course introduces the client, healthcare, and nursing topics, revealing the foundations of practical nursing. Explored are the bio-psycho-social needs common to all human beings, health promotion maintenance, and restoration, emphasizing the needs of the aged. The QSEN competencies that support quality and safety in practice are presented and built upon in subsequent courses. Nursing skills and professional behaviors are introduced in the supervised clinical laboratory and later practiced in clinical settings.
