Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) allows students who can demonstrate college-level knowledge and competencies gained outside traditional post-secondary education to be awarded up to 25 college credits toward a college degree. These competencies can include military training, employer training programs, union apprenticeships, professional certifications, licensure and independent study. The Technical Studies, Associate in Applied Science degree is uniquely designed to give students an accelerated route to an associate's degree.
